Those blue shoes.... are they suede?
Neat photo Stephen, nice detail throughout and terrific balance between darks and lights. :toast:

Excellent shot - I like the fact that due to the DOF also a good part of the habitat is shown here. Great species of course as well. Well done ! Hans

Beautiful, Steve. Excellent pose and exposure. Pretty easy to guess the species of this one even for a non-water bird guy.

A wonderful wide angle close-up of this beauty Stephen  Great view of those feet. Are those clouds in the sky? Seems very unusual for the Galapagos.

Hi folks many thanks and this location is a real privilege to visit, as to get so close without any distress to the subjects is amazing.

Hi Ken they are, as we had mixed weather, blue skies and quite often very overcast conditions which was helpful as when the sun was out proved a real headache at times for the whites and needed skilful exposure handling. Taken in September time during the breeding season.

Excellent shot of this bird. While I suppose the feet are the main subject here, I would have liked a little more room for the bird to look into. Sharon

Stephen -

Your email address registered at NPN seems to be broken. I tried to email you in response to your comment on one of my posts. The email bounced back. In response to your questions on sharpening and on conversion to sRGB: I've written on conversion and sharpening techniques. My article is one of many, and hardly the best, but here's the link.

If you click on the "Instruction" menu in the masthead at NPN and select the Articles and Reviews item, it takes you to a directory and even a search box.

Hope this helps.

Those feet are something else Stephen! Really nice ob handling the side light and shadows on this. I like how you decided to include more of the cloud detail. It gives this a much more majestic feel....good decision and nice work!
