Shot this Loon along the shore of North Park Lake in Gibsonia, Pa hiding in the bushes. Testing out my new 5D MK3 I just got a week ago.

Test...SUCCESSFUL!!! Beautiful shot! Nice and crisp, can't ask for any better!

PS I didn't know they were that far south!

Very nice close view of this Common Loon in good plumage.

A personal gripe - the drop shadow on your copyright. If you are going to use these I'd suggest setting the shadow direction to match the light source on the subject so it isn't so jarring.

Nice close up with a good head turn. The water drops on the head are a nice plus. Sharon

Richard
Do you think it would be better to get rid of the drop shadow? Is it distracting? Is that what you mean?
Thanks Bill

I like the head turn showing the red eye and water drops. Interesting to see all the color patterns and nice detail on the larger image. I would love to see one of these birds one day. Well done.

Nice catch, like the way the Loon is looking back at you. Nice detail.

Nice head turn and good view of the dorsal pattern at the same time. Love the water droplets on the head.

Wonderfully sharp, great colours. You must be thrilled with your new 5D.
Composition wise I would like a bit more space on the left side but that's obviously subjective.
