Desert Song
by Cory O'Neill
Thunderstorms have made for some spectacular skies over central Oregon over the last week, and I headed out with my son to try to capture some lightning strikes at sunset. Lightning never materialized, but my son and I still enjoyed a pleasant evening in the park.
I had a different comp in mind on my way out, but two other photogs had discovered it and set up shop, so I settled for my back up spot on the rim.
As always, comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
5DII, 17mm, two shots, one for the sunstar and the other for highlight/shadow details double processed.

Love this photo. The glow of the light is what makes it all happen. Good going.
Smith Rocks is one of the places I've always wanted to visit, there's something special about this spot to me for some reason.
