Breakfast!

Out this morning to the local nature preserve, although I didn't make it for sunrise. Getting to be too early. I spotted this doe very soon after entering and like the resulting image. She's feeding on wild anise and the early low, soft light caught here just right with a nice catchlight. No adjustments other than to resize and sharpen for the web. Only nit would be to have her a bit more out of center and to the right. Next image up will be of one of the bucks who are now growing their antlers in prep for this fall's rut. Comments and critiques welcomed and appreciated.

I have always like this type of pose, the quick look over the shoulder to ensure danger isn't following. The centered subject is acceptable in this circumstance in my opinion. However, the dark trunk above the deer is unfortunate, but easily removed if you wanted to. I might increase the exposure globally Peter, the foreground and shadows are rather dark.

Nice pose you have captured with good details. Like the light reflected in the eye.

Great early morning capture here Peter, I too like the pose and appreciate the deer pointing its ears in the same direction for you. that always seems like a challenge for me. Nice detail in the larger photo too!
