Unusual setting for this spoonbill and I love the colors -- I like the sharp foreground as it fades to the blurred background -- good job

The spoonbill's color really stands out nicely against the green FG & BG!

Carol,

The colours here are really amazing, makes our African Spoonbill look quite dull in comparison.

Excellent shot of this very colorful bird, good DOF to get the bill and eye in focus. Nice setting also. :toast:

They are beautiful birds Carol, nicely rendered colors in this soft even light.
I like all the greenery that not only frames the bird nicely, but contrasts well.
Very good details, like this squared-off & centered comp too..
Have a great Sunday! :toast:

A great frontal shot with excellent DOF. You've caught the colours beautifully Carol.

Really nice job on the exposure and like the contrast between the bird and green foliage. I do wish this wasn't so centered and think the comp would be improved if you cropped off a decent portion of the left side ( if mine, I would loose half of what you have on the left). It also seems like it might need small CW rotation.
Don't mean that to sound nit picky, but I do think it would take a really nice image and send it over the top.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Kurt, I took both of your suggestions - removed half of the left side and made a slight rotation. I like this much better, but would be curious about what others think. Thanks so much!
