Furry Trees

Yeah, they looked like they were covered in green fur. Kind of a spooky place. This didn't look like what I had expected when I opened it. So, It went unprocessed since Oct, 2011. But, since I have nothing fresh to post, I have been taking a second look at some. I applied a few different blur layers at small opacities to get this to where it is now. Something more like I was expecting/hoping for. Hope it works!

Oregon Coast, south of Gold Beach.

Beautiful image Chris. Quite a spooky mood and the hanging moss is great. I really like how you processed this. Well done.

Cool shot Chris, I'm liking it, especially the way the moss glows in the light, also, beautiful job of processing, the large view is excellent, lots of nice detail in the moss. Beautifully done.

Like the subtle sidelighting CHris. The horizontal layout with the vertical subjects works nicely. Works for me.

Chris, it's not easy to find a comp in dense forest like this but I think you have arranged the elements nicely. There is a nice rhythm to the composition. The dark exposure makes this feel a bit moody and even slightly ominous but its nicely presented.

I like this very much, Chris. Good choice of aperture to get the depth throughout. The darkish exposure adds a lot to the "spooky" mood. Nice work!

Great capture and processing. The sidelight looks great. Lots of interesting details in there. Easy to get drawn in and lost - which is great!

My eye races around this like I'm watching Olympic ping pong - I mean that in a good way. Tones, detail, contrast all work together nicely.

Hi Chris! I like this image a lot. The textures in trees with the moss is really cool looking! I like the somewhat eerie mood that the combination of moss and light are giving this. Nice work on your comp too. It works!

Furry trees indeed. Never seen anything quite like the forests of the NW, and you've done a great job capturing this one!

An impressive portrait of this forest for me, Chris. The more prominent trunkes in the foreground first draw my attention and then I enjoy following the rhythmic pattern through the whole composition. The subtle lighting is spot on to my eye and shows the mosses at their best.

Incredible, Chris. Love every inch of your image. The green glow of the mosses and the strong vertical lines are flat out stunning.

Cool--some great patterns there, Chris! Maybe a tad brighter overall and it will be sweet.
