It was 20 degrees(C) below zero on that morning and a flock of Redpolls
was going back and forth between this tree and a nearby feeder.I finally managed this capture amidst the confusion.

Taken at 1/250s,f/10, ISO 500 with 300mm on D300.

I can't remember seeing so many good looking redheads in one place before Claude
Great image, the birds stand out very well in this setting..
And all facing to the front to boot! :toast:

Beautiful, Claude. I like the overall composition and the fact that they are all sharp. Not so easy to do sometimes. :toast:

Lovely picture with lots of wonderful birds  , well done. Only thing would be the BG that seems a little noisy to me - did you run NR ? In any case a nice shot ! Cheers, Hans

Gorgeous image Claude! They look like little ornaments in the tree. The yellow buds (?) in the tree also provide a great accent. What a great catch to get them all spaced out nicely and facing the camera. Such a nice color palette as well.

Thanks for the comment Scott, this is a Beech tree sapling. These trees grow to 40+ feet and often keep their dried up leaves throughout the winter.

I really like your composition, Claude. The background makes the redpolls pop. The difference between the males and females is remarkable. :toast:

Claude,
I cannot add any technical input that the others posting before me have not. The only thing I can say is I really like the shot and they remind me of Christmas ornaments. That is a good thing.
