Azul

A vertical version of my previous image "Azure". Single 3-minute exposure taken last September at Crater Lake. I'll add a larger version on a dark background at the Purchase Print link later.

The light on the tree was more red/magenta in this one - it was taken right after the previous horizontal, so there must have been more of an opening in the clouds at the horizon in that span of time.

I'll have some new images for you all soon!

I like this a lot- very dramatic light, colours, and textures in the trunk,
very well-done!

Nice! Somehow dramatic and serene at the same time.

Sweet! So eerie, dark and moody. Love the curved bottom frame the tree provides. :toast:

Beautiful composition. The subtle light and blue tones are very atmospheric. High level post-processing work also.

Really like this. The light and tones are exquisite. The comp is great, too. Seems just at teensy bit dark, especially the top, but not so much as to be a major distraction.

Thanks, peeps. Cory, I agree it looks dark as presented here. Optimized for a dark background, see here. The deep shadows still may be a bit harsh, despite not being clipped.

Very nicely done! the creamy colors and composition create an excellent scene and mood. I really like the use of the roots to anchor the bottom of the image.

Yeah, it does look better with a dark background.

Wonder comp and lighting Alex. I agree that these dark photos work much better with a dark background; still, very nice here too.

Very nice, Alex. I like the composition and mood. Much is often said about developing a personal style but I can truly recognize your photos. They seem to have your unique signature of mood and light.

I really admire your work, Alex. Your twilight images are both stunning and inspiring.

This one just looks fantastic, especially on the darker background! Though I prefer this comp to the horizontal one posted earlier, either conveys the beauty of that location perfectly.
