Nice color in the bloom Willaim. I wish that it did not feel like it was 'hanging out' quite so far over the fence in the BG.

Lovely colours and detail - I agree a shorter stem would focus the eye on the flower only.

Bill, you can post larger than this. This is 600 pixels in the long dimension. You can find a number of helpful suggestions in the digital forum http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/bbs.cgi?a=vm&mr=21913&CGISESSID=2cd11413635a93a5d29d01db6a977299&u=31439
The rose looks nice, the detail seems to be sharp, but the background looks a little weird. It looks like the rose is leaning over a wooden fence? Maybe shortening up on the stem via a crop from the bottom would help.

Beautiful rose, William. I like the muted picket fence in the bg and the angle you caught.

Great color and detail in the rose William. I'm in agreement about the fence, maybe even if the fence was more in focus?

A beautiful color of rose to contrast so well with a mysterious bg such as this. Your dof did well to set the stage for the subject.
