My first post in this gallery. Went for a walk in the woods this morning without my camera. I saw a large grouping of fungus and had to go home for my camera and come back for these guys. I didn't expect Spring to have sprung quite so much. Lots of blooms and 'shrooms.

D7000
150 macro
f20
1/13th sec
ISO 800
Lots of rain and mud

Comments and critiques welcome!

Very nice composition. And I like the blurry swirls of the background. Might possibly be improved by a bit of darkening of the brown stick or stem slightly with the burn tool.

Those are very attractive mushrooms, Steve, which you captured nicely. I like the perspective and overall comp with the mushrooms and base in good focus, showing nice detail, against the nice, contrasting bg. My only very minor nit issue is with the diagonal stem or stick in the bg (right side), which is a little distracting. This could be cloned if you wanted. Thanks for sharing this image in this gallery, Steve. :wavey:

Great look at these two little shrooms. I really like your comp. and the inverted umbrella shapes of the two mushrooms. Very well seen. The background seems fine to me. In fact, the little swirl of brightness (center right edge) helps pull my eyes from the top mushroom back to the mossy stump so they can wander across all the folds in the shrooms again.

Hi Steve, macro photography is all about getting down and dirty. A great shot can't fault it.
