Since this weekly challenge was my suggestion I should at least submit an image. This is a Shark Eye or Moon Snail hiding under a Van Hynings Cockle found Feb.2012 on Siesta Key, Florida. A stack of 5, 60mm Tamron Macro, F22, AP, Multi pattern. A small crop and sharpening.

Comments always welcome.

Thank You.

Great dof. I like the balance of the shells and the colors work well together.

Cool! I sure like warm colors and the peeking out aspect! As presented, the cockle shell feels like a wing and the little swirls in the sand are a great addition.

Interesting shot William. great suggestion for the Weekly Challenge too. I like the warm colors, and the interesting composition here. Love the patterns in the sand/mud underneath.

Yes, you better contribute, William! Shells make great macros IMO. I really like the unique POV you have in this image, with the Shark Eye shell seemingly peeking out from under the larger shell. Nice contrast of colors and textures--lines vs. spiral. The shells are lovely but I find the sand texture equally fascinating. . .different than the beach sand texture I am used to seeing. If it were mine, I would pull back a bit on the brightness. Great entry for the challenge, William.

Beautiful colors, William. The shells were placed just right, and just enough background to balance everything. The background of sand (?) is nice and smooth so it doesn't detract from the main elements; almost like a bokah itself.
