Great scene and subject. The processing treatment is interesting and effective. It might be useful to hear more about this. Since the image has human elements and some processing more in line with photo art, I have moved it from the landscape gallery.

Jeff,

Welcome to NPN! Looks like your first post and I quite like this. As Kah Kit mentioned, certainly a Man & Nature subject with the cabin, but also the processing makes this more Photo Art. Like Kah Kit, I would be curious as to you processing and what you might be trying to convey. I think this works quite well. The texture in the sky is either really bad jpg quality, or a very artistic rendition and idea for the sky. Regardless, the tone, color and mood of this is very effective.

Thanks for sharing. We'll look forward to your images and participation.

Really a great image. I agree with Lon, with all the post processing it belongs in the photo art forum. By the the way welcome to the group. Already I'm intrigued by your work. :toast:

I think the image is better for your "artistic" interpretation. As a straight shot, it probably would have lacked the impact added with the texture-type screen you probably added during post processing. The somewhat subdued colors are also an appropriate choice. The finished product is a very nice rendition of an antiquated photograph.
