Filaree Creeper, (redstem storksbill), Erodium circutarium. Geranium family. After much searching I THINK I have the correct ID and would genuinly appreciate correction if you know this is wron and know the correct name.

This is our earliest blooming wildflower and is listed as February to June but I found a single bloom open on January 1st 2013. They are very small approx 1/2" dia.

Olympus E-5
12-60mm plus 1.4 tc
FL 85mm

Charlie

A lovely scene. Reminds me of times when I sit idly in the open fields surrounded by wildflowers. I like the DOF and the supporting casts in the bg.

Charlie: Nice find and a fine capture. I like the comp and your DOF choice especially. I do think I would make the tips on the center bottom border go away to make it a bit more perfect. >=))>

Thanks all for much appreciated comments. I don't know if I'll ever get the knack of seeing the little things that make such big differences. Thanks Bill, those two blips were a detraction.
