I finally got some photos of the Coastal race of the Western Scrub-Jay. This photo is from Stinson Beach, Golden Gate Nat'l Recreation Area.

Full frame, slight sharpening.

A fine presentation of a bird I will probably never see. Good head turn and catchlight. Tack sharp detail in both the large and the small images and a pleasing habitat/environment background. You could have probably opened up for a more blurred bg, but at 600 mm, I understand. :toast:

Absolutely exquisite Jim! Only thing I might do differently is provide a little more canvas on the bottom. The tail seems a bit crowded in that corner. A really cool looking bird. :toast:

That's one crisp image, Jim. Beautiful job on the exposure. It could be a little looser in the frame, but I'd sure like to have this one.

I like most this complimentary color palette Jim, nice.
Great clarity, details, and DOF.
I've not been able to catch this bird in a tree, they always seem to be on the ground.
Well done :wavey:

Very clean and detailed image of this jay Jim. I like the comp and the verdant background.
