Had a great session with some surprisingly co-operative avocets at a local lake a coulple of weeks ago

ISO 400 f8 1/2000 two boogie boards on top of each other with the camera resting on a beanbag

Interesting to see the slight differences between Avocets depending on where you live. I have always liked your low perspective approach and a really nice job on the black, white, red color contrast in bright light. Well done Rob.

Rob: This is really striking. The low angle really works. The OOF foreground and background seem to mirror each other an hold the viewer on the bird. Really nice.

Sweet. The bird colors against blue really provide a lot of separation. Love the low pov. NIce work on a beanbag.

Love the upturned feather (slight breeze?). Avocets are some of my favorite birds and this is just stunning.

Just one boogie board was all that was necessary!

Just kidding. This is a seriously good angle and a nice look at the bird. The highlights and shadows are well handled, and the comp is classic.

That's one seriously decurved bill. Great light, wonderful low angle and nice detail. The bottom and top OOF areas frame the bird very nicely. This is a real winner, Rob.
