Dream On

Well, Jimmy is going to be a real hard act to follow with his great shot of Dream Lake here, but here is my take. This was a little earlier than his and there was different light on the peaks. More red than gold. I'm sure Kane will join in the fun with his as well.

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Love this one Morris. That curving lead in line is a killer. Wish we had some nice ice like that here in New England.

Beautiful!! I'm really enjoying this Morris. Great comp and the light and color are wonderful. I especially like the line from the crack in the ice and how it leads you in to the scene. Excellent! :toast:

Very nice, Morris. I like how you have composed this as it gives a little different view with more attention on Flattop than on Hallet. You had some nice light as well - I really like the reflected light in the ice and the contrasting color.

The snow tracer trail leads us right in on this scene, Morris. Unveiling of the peaks from the fog/clouds works very well. The additional light here helped to provide excellent detail in the shadowed areas of the trees too.

Both you and Jimmy are rockin' it with your shots from Dream Lake. It definitely makes me want to head up there next winter. I love the curved line you were able to find here, and the soft light on the background is also very nice. No nits from me on this one. Excellent job Morris.

You guys and your icy lakes. Makes me very angry that we don't get these conditions here! The ice is the show here, but you have those nice mountains with the low clouds that really set it off. I also love how the crack in the ice leads through the ice and into the peaks. Very well done.

Bam, nice and that little round spot of snow in the foreground right of the crack is what puts it together for me :toast:

Morris: One of my favorite places on the planet. I was fortunate enough to visit here in December 2006 for my only time in the park in the winter and loved the ice patterns. This is great how the crack leads into the scene. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

This is one of THE best photos I've seen from Dream Lake, Morris. Stunning conditions and a perfect composition. Masterfully processed, too. I love it.

AWESOME! So this is what you and Kane were finding at that end of the lake. I didn't have enough time to head that far before sunrise. Arrrrgh. I like this comp quite a bit, Morris. The earlier colors in the clouds and reflected light on the trees is really something special! :toast:

Morris I love it!!! That ice is very, very, very well composed. This shot seems a few minutes before I got there?

The bold sweeping curve and the single snow spot is a spectacular foreground. This is stunning as it is, but wonder what is would be like with the foregound ice lightened a little. :toast:

Another great shot from that morning. Seems you guys made the most of your opportunity! I'd love to see this in print. All those little bubbles in the ice have me curious.
