Jimmy's Light!

Yeah, ever since Jimmy caught that incredible reflected light into this forest, I hoped to be able to see it one day. It has to be a fresh snow over night, with clear skies in the morning. Then the light of sunrise reflects off of the granite wall behind, and onto/into these trees. I didn't copy his comp at least

With no big snow events yet this season, this is from last year. Thanks for having a look and leaving your thoughts!

The snow contrasted with the brown tree trunks is great! Love the light and the patterns between the branches.

Wonderful comp with all the intertwined branches that feel as if they are holding the whole scene together.

Very nice Chris, excellent light, comp and detail, not to much snow in my area either, hopefully before the season is over. Well done.

A great looking forest scene Chris! I like your comp and the contrast of the trees and small branches with the snow looks wonderful. I'm enjoying your larger version very much!...
We just had about 8" of snow 2 days ago and now last night got about another 3" of powder snow to top it off. Been plowing some snow this morning early but will head out and see if I can find a picture to make soon now.

A fine comp, Chris. I like how snow brings order to chaotic forest scenes. And, in this one you calmed the chaos really well. Great use of lines, too. I think it would be very rewarding to spend some time in front of a huge print enjoying the detail and mesmerizing intricacies.

Nicely done Chris! I think the scortched bottom half of the tree trunks adds to the composition.

Nice one, Chris! Id be tempted to crop out the lhs to eliminate the oddball tree, but its a close call. :wavey:

Hi Chris :wavey: Wonderful shapes and patterns in those snow covered branches :jump: the strong vertical lines of the tree trunks keeps everything tied together

Hmmmm...I don't remember taking my portable lights there  Nice take on a great spot to shoot, Chris. Seems your glow is little more cyan than mine, so you're not really taking my light  Regardless, I am glad you got the great conditions. Sweet shot. :toast:

Thanks guys!

Jimmy, I'll say I like your comp and ocurrance better. It was hard not to go over there  I also think the glow was a bit more intense when you shot yours. But so far, this is the closest to that amount of light I have been able to witness there.

Very appealing repetitive pattern, Chris, and the prominent trunk in the foreground at the left works as proper focal point to me. Very nice lighting conditions in my opinion, too.
