Sea Creature

Decided to try using a loaned 65mm macro lens on the creatures in a salt water aquarium at the zoo. Unfortunately the fish stayed too far away, so I had to settle for this creature, which apparently hitched a ride on the living coral. Not sure what it is, but it was on the glass and gave me the opportunity to work with the lens and flash combination. This animal is about 1/2 inch long. The yellow BG is an angel fish which swam behind the creature just as I took the photo.

John, I couldn't figure how you took this until I read the description. Then, I was very surprised to read that this "sea creature" is only 1/2 long! Nice job getting such extreme magnification with the 65mm. My only nit is the loss of detail, but you make up for it with the colorful bg. Good timing with the passing angel fish.

John, I believe what you shot was a nudibranch, which is a type of mollusc. As for the photo, I do like the background and the POV of this creature. Overall, however, it is somewhat soft. I imagine that glass was a bit thick to shoot through. It appears you nailed the lighting, though!

John, something addition to look at is the various sliders in ACR. Possibly the detail slider or the clarity slider were used a bit liberally to add some detail. There are white bands around parts of the urchin.
