This variety lends itself to the high key treatment pretty well. Not as nice as the pale petaled varieties but I think it works.

This is a lovely composition, I think. Sometimes people will say, trying to be complementary, "It looks like a painting."

I suppose what they may mean by that is that it may seem to have that depth of intent and planning that a painstaking painting would require; as opposed to an opportune snapshot.

And I definitely think that kind of thing is evident in the likely antecedents of this image; i.e., this isn't just a snapshot, by any means; but a "well-formed-formula" as logicians might put it, and in this case, though, the logic of light and color and form and life and beauty.

I like how this one is drooping downwards! I think this is just as nice as the pale ones...I like it better than the last one. I like how the veins really pop in this one!

High key is heavenly. You have to be creative to find a shot for orchids...you've achieved that mark with this. Each bloom seems a bit shy or coy with facing the camera...every direction except none w/shoulders squared-up...kinda works with so many blooms shown. Nice detail and colors.

Mark: I really like this one. I especially love the varying orientation of the flowers giving front, side and back views and the buds are just right as well. Superbly done.>=))>

I will compliment you and say the orchids are well complemented by the high key colors! I like the darker colors of these orchids!

Mark:

This variety works just as well as others you have done. Love the drooping diagonal flow and the different pose of the blooms.
