I shot this back in 2008 and just got around to processing it, part of a new years resolution. I have a bad habit of not processing the images that initially strike me as keepers and moving on to some experimental shots etc. With reservation I went out into the sand dunes of Death Valley early one cold and windy morning. I came back with some nice images in unique conditions. Here is one of them, let me know what you think.

It's pretty straightforward, but the wind makes this special. Reminds me of my Sahara expedition in Algeria - wind every day, sand in every meal.

Very nice, Todd. I like the strong graphic lines and textures throughout. The blowing and streaking sand further enhances the image and the warm side lighting really brings out all of the wonderful details.

Todd this is sweet, I haven't personally seen a shot like this! The motion is spectacular and the colors are great. I can see why you find this one special. I could maybe see a slight crop off the top to emphasize shape. Just a thought.

I feel the wind in this - great patterns and a nice mix of the warm and cool tones. Your diagonal comp. works perfectly for me. My only suggestion might be to slightly darken the top edge to keep the eye from drifting to that brightest area. Way cool, makes me want to explore dune country sometime.

Excellent image Todd. I really like the colors and the repeating lines in the sand. This is a real treat to look at and I bet it would look great as a large print.
