Cold Recesses

This was taken at the Presque Isle river area in the Porcupine Mtns. This is a beautiful area and home to the famous 'potholes'. I exited the river area as the sun was setting over Superior. I found some fantastic rock structures and focused on this particular one. Waves had receded leaving water to penetrate the recesses of this rock. I was attracted to the pattern of the water lines in harmony with the beautiful stone features. Hopefully it translates well in presentation.

Large version included.

Thanks for your time and input

Those inky black lines are very graphic and appealing to me Anthony. Fantastic tonal range is created against the gray background rock.

I continue to be impressed with your eye for unusual abstracts in nature, Anthony. Harmony would be another good title for this as the pieces, tones, and colors all work in harmony. Gorgeous color palette! :toast:

This is a wonderful abstract with the water lines angled across the frame and all of the textures in the rock. Well seen and composed.
