Monumental Balloon

Last weekend was the annual hot air balloon festival at Monument Valley. I have enjoyed going the past three years to see the colorful balloons against the sandstone walls and above the buttes.

I love the way this is composed because those walls in the back play tricks with the eyes. I got a few decent ones of the balloons but nothing spectacular with this balloon.

Beautiful, Doug. Thought about going but 800+ miles one way for this, seemed like a bad idea until I saw this photo. Love the fact that there are no commercial based logos or adds on the balloon, which is way too common in the Albuquerque and Colorado Springs festivals.

Great image. The dark red of the background really makes the balloon pop. Also the sharpness and detail of the balloon is outstanding.

Beautiful image; the balloon truly feels like it is floating along. The sandstone walls make a great background.
