of the Silvery Moon
For those who always email to ask what the original looked like, I fracted this one directly from the "straight" flying cranes image I just posted in Avian.

Sandy - I was on your Avian Gallery version first and was about to comment when your notation pointed me here. I like them both, but this is just wicked cool. Phenomenal, and great vision and creativity to render this silver against black as well.
Love it.
My only "nit" is on the larger version in particular I can clearly see some broad-stroke darker "outlining" around both cranes, and a couple random shapes/outlines in front of the lower bird. It's visible here, too. This image has way too much potential not to clean that up, which I'm sure with your processing skills would be a matter of a couple minutes' work.
Did I mention I really like this?

The original is stunning, Sandy. I do like the silvery birds/moon set against the black background of this image. I too can see the outlining on the larger image, much like a selection around each bird and the moon.

Here is an edited version, hopefully with the odd lines removed..(I still can't see them, but just blended all the black areas and hoped that took care of it..)
Also added a bit more room behind the lower crane.
