Just shot this yesterday. After some real winter weather, we've had several days of above-freezing temperature, even at night. As a result, some places in brooks that were hidden beneath the snow a couple of weeks ago, look like this now. For a January photo, to me this has a warm feel.

Canon 5D2; Canon 24-105mm.
f/10 @ 1/125 sec.; ISO 320
Semi-hand-held (resting resting on ski pole)

Very cool image, Wayne! I like the contrast of the snow/ice with the wavy reflections in the water. The blue in the water coordinates nicely with the blue tint of the snow. The bright blue sky reflected in the water and the melting edges of the snow does seem to make it feel like warmer days are coming. I find the diagonal dark log at the top of the water edge somewhat distracting but doubt you could have done anything about that. I also wonder if a slight crop down from the top might be helpful? Nice find. . . we have no snow or ice left around here.

nicely seen, with good detail in the ice along the water. I like the rippling water and the effect on the reflections; creates a more dynamic scene IMO.

I hear you about the weather, I was exploring reflection in thin ice, but there's no ice now. I really like the wrinkled reflections and details in the ice framing. You've got a nice mixture of warm and cold here. Well seen.

I think yoou should clone a Jacana onto the log or transform it into a beaver. Ha! Anyway, this is a lovely image. It looks very delicate and ephemeral. I like the way the reflected snow is a differnt color than the shaded ice.
