Early frost caught these roses while in bloom. Taken in my backyard.

Wonderful colors in this image, David. I like how the rich red of the roses and the greenish background have just a tint of blue which helps add to the feeling of coolness in this scene. My preference would have been to seen the main flower be "solo" in this image with nothing else in the background or at least getting rid of the flower bud that is on the left side intruding on the main flower. . .that flower pulls attention away from the wonderful main flower IMO. Love the details of the frost on the petal edges and on the stem and thorns. Great entry for the theme.

Another delicious frost flower. Great colors in this soft light. I think this would look better if the flower on the left did not "run into" the main flower, or if it were more out-of-focus.

Thanks Carolyn and Wayne, I did not have much room to work with. I was afraid to do any cloning or bluring in case I messed up the edging detail, but I will make a copy and try it!! Thanks again!!

David, the frost crystals and the deep red petals make a great combo. You did a fine job here of focusing on the one bloom and its stem while including other partials to add ambience. As a very minor nit, I agree about softening the flower on the left. You may also be able to burn it in to reduce how much attention it pulls.
