Hi All-
I could use a lot of help on my black & white images. They don't generally get very good reviews. Any suggestions here? I'm all ears...

Bob,
I make no calims to understanding bw, though I really like the contrast and even light tones throughout the image. The clouds have nice texture. I wonder thought about placing the "mighty" dead center. Would there be a different view angle that could better create the sense of being in the saguaro desert? Having never been in that environment, I wonder about the close details of the saguaro itself.

I think the shapes, textures, and clouds in this image make it a good one for b+w conversion. I wish the big cactus was not dead center.

Comp is super strong here. Great lines. Might just pop your 'lights' a bit but otherwise this looks pretty good :) Nice work

Thanks for the replies guys. In this comp it felt that the big saguaro was begging to be the main attraction and center of attention. The ultra-wide distortion and the circle of smaller cacti allowed me to break the rules and center the main subject. That was my reasoning anyway.

This one jumps off the page. Nice use of the centered comp, well done!

I think this is great and a situation where the centered composition works very well. The clouds really make this stand out and I think the processing overall looks good- you might be able to bring up the lights a bit to give a little more separation from the mid-tones. Great image.
