In the first half of december we got a lot of snow here....meanwhile the snow is already melted since we had such a warm holiday season. This image was taken end of november in the Jura mountains.

Nikon D700, 16-35mm(Nikkor)@35mm, Iso200, f8, 20seconds, polarizer

This is such a beautiful image and an interesting use of the polarizer. I very much like the composition, and I think the lights add such a sense of man being nestled in just the right place. What a view you had! The image does seem to be a tad over-sharpened, especially in the trees but that may be just the dusting of snow on them. Don't know, I have never shot snow in a scene like this one. A very rare occurrence in south Texas and none where I am in Ecuador!

This is a beautiful "comfort" image, ideal for the holidays. While well crafted, it seems to my eyes that the sky does not match the ground, or vice versa. Nonetheless, a very nice image.

WOW! I'm a sucker for winter mountain scenes like this. It's gorgeous, I always imagine being snug in the nice warm home, cabin, shelter with a warm fire burning sleeping like a log. Very nice.

That's a gorgeous shot with teriffic and believable luminosity throughout. Cracking composition taken at just the right time to evoke a feeling of witer cosiness.
