Happy New Year everyone!
I spent New Year's morning at Burgäschisee/Switzerland.This is a small lake in our near neighbourhood. So this is my first picture in 2013. What a gorgeous morning to welcome 2013.

I like the composition and colors; the strong diagonal of the dock and the contrast of its form with the adjacent grasses and the water -- with ripples in the shadow. In the larger version, the frost is more evident on the dock with the leaves and lichens and on the grass and empty milkweed pod, all of which are sharp. Finally, I think that the tree line on the right side sloping down kind of mirrors the leading line of the dock to point to the opposite side of the lake, in the direction of the sunrise. Very enjoyable to view.

I agree, the lines in this image and the coloring sets a relaxing mood. I can see myself walking down the dock and looking out. I can even imagine having a cup of tea while embracing the early morning. Great image.

I like the colors & the diagonal dock, but it is those clumps of frosty grasses that really make it a hit for me!

Gorgeous color palette. The light is just as nice, too. The line of the dock leads me on to sunrise. Very well done.
