Another capture taken during my trip to Stodertal in Upper Austria two weeks ago. This will be my last post 2012.

Beautiful wintry forest scene Peter. I like how the trees provide a window for the snow covered mountain. There is something very peaceful about a forest in snow.

Peter, This is a wonderful winters view, and I agree totally with Eva's thoughts here. I enjoy the peaceful feel while I look at this.

A wonderful "window" view to the Alps. The tree trunks and foliage do seem to command as much attention as the background mountains. Nice presentation.

Very nice winter scene. The contrast between the brown tree trunks, green trees and white snow works very well.

Peter, I really enjoy this image, you know why? Because the composition is intriguing. The way you use the trees as a channel to show the background. I could easily see this image as a image that hangs proudly in a lodge. The color and sharpness is also very well done. email me would you - I'd be very interested in seeing how you went about this process.

The greens and browns in the FG work very well. I love the "V"pattern in the trees, somewhat repeated by the mountains, giving this image nice depth. Very nice image!

Very nice, Peler. I love the design (looking thru the trees to foggy mtn.). good exposure and processing.

Peter,
Very nice winter scene. A "window" is a great description of this. The reds of the pines is lovely up against the dark greens and monochrome bg.
Not sure if it was possible, but it might have been nice to have the tallest peaks show through the center of the window - but you might not have had that option. Also, if it were mine, I might consider cropping down from the top just a bit, maybe as much as 1/2 of the sky above the top of the peak. Just a thought.

And Happy 2013 to you as well!

The gap in the trees makes a nice window to the distant view of the mountain. Love the red of the trunks in this wintery landscape Peter.
