Janus

Janus is the Roman god of gates, doorways, transitions, time, beginnings and endings. He is usually depicted as a head with two faces looking in opposite directions - the past and the future. Janus also lent his name to the month of January.

I've enjoyed working these high-key orchid shots and I appreciate all your comments and suggestions. I have a few more of these to post and I'm always looking for new varieties, however, Janus is on my mind. I'm beginning to think it's time to bring this project to a close and start a new one.

Happy New Year to all!

Mark: Aptly titled and superbly crafted. I've been here for a long time and I cannot recall a finer series done on any subject. Many kudos to you and looking forward to what you will have in the new year. >=))>

These are gorgeous Mark. I'll not look at an orchid again without thinking of this series. I find these almost impossible to photograph and that makes the series that much more impressive to me.

A fine one, Mark, both in terms of symmetry and the mix of sharp and soft. Well put together!

Mark - Sorry for the late entry to this post. In line with your impressive Orchid Series, this one stacks right up there with the best from that. Works perfectly as presented for me. :toast:
