Mount Rundle

I made a quick trip over to Vermillion Lakes to shoot Mount Rundle this morning. The sky was pretty cluttered so I chose to go with a long exposure to make things a little more exciting. Thanks for any comments or recommendations on how to improve.

This image certainly has a lot of impact Wayne. Great decision on the long exposure for the sky, very dynamic looking. Wonderful composition with the reflection and the nice detail in the snow. No nits from me.

Wow, thanks everyone! I debated cropping a little off the bottom but in the end decided to leave it as it was shot. I just noticed some tracks in the snow on the right side... I may clean those up. Glad this one seems to be going over well!

Awesome image, Wayne. I sometimes question (usually only to myself) the long exposure/streaking cloud effect I see in images, but it worked to perfection here. :toast:

This is one of best images I saw this year!
I like: the color and texture of the sky a lot. The snow color and texture is perfect.
Very nice

Wayne: I mean this as a high compliment; when I first glanced at the thumbnail I thought this was a Marc Adamus shot. Stunningly beautiful capture of a magical moment..>=))>

Striking image. The beautiful foreground ice really emphasizes the sharpness through to the mountain. The long exposure clouds are amazing.

Very nice image! I might be tempted to crop a tad off the bottom, but other than that this one is just about perfect.

Wayne,

Gotta say it - when I first viewed the thumbnail, I thought for sure it was an image from some guy named Adamus..... So let's just say that this is an impressive landscape; great color, drama in the sky/reflection and the cloud motion here is wonderful - which can be a tricky thing and so dependent on the length of the motion and other elements within the landscape and conditions. Anyway, I think this is just a stunning winter landscape. Love the frosted details up front too. Awesome!

Gotta agree with Lon. When I first saw this I thought it was a Marc shot. It has that same drama and dynamic punch that many of his images do. And yeah, that's a compliment! Also, I'm not always a fan of long exposure skies, but here it works fabulously! Great image Wayne! :toast:
