By way of introduction, last September (2011) I had the idea of suspending laser pointers from the ceiling on a double-eliptic pendulum I made from wooden dowels and some weights. Some may say this isn't "nature", yet we have our origins in such fundamental principles as mass and momentum. We are composed of elements made in stars.

Anyway, the "red" here is precisely 640 nm and the green precisely 531 nm. What "red" and "green" really are, however, is another matter entirely; it turns out that this designation is entirely a matter of interpretation by the human perception system and mind.

So Pentax K100D Super, Kit 18-55mm lens at 55mm, ISO 800, 25 sec exposure on bulb mode. The lasers were pointed downward at a mirror set at a 45° angle so as to reflect the light directly onto a black velvet "screen" hanging vertically.

If I were to be picky I'd say this doesn't meet the theme as black is the dominant color here, not red, not green. but an interesting idea.

Black is not a color; black is the absence of color. I reaize this will be difficult for many to understand since they have a crayon in their box labeled "Black". But what I'm saying is true.

After viewing your site, Richard, I realize you are at least ten-times the photographer I'll ever be. And I apologize if my comment above was taken in an offensive way.

I'm still learning :)

Very cool red & green abstract, John! I really like the wonderful swirls created by the pendulum swings. The black background helps the red & green colors pop. Unique artistic entry for the theme.

Interesting concept. I remember doing the Foucault pendulum experiment in high school and seeing the "real stuff" in Paris. I guess this is not Foucault because of the double elliptic - but it gives me ideas. Well done.
