I love the light in this. You have two exceptional images you can play with here, this beautiful horizontal image with everything and then a vertical with those rocks as a foreground anchor. Those clouds just match them so perfectly. Wonderful scene and cannot wait to get here next summer.

Chris,
A single exposure! The dynamic range of that camera is amazing.
The light here is so rich and just brings everything to life in the scene. You did a great job of capturing it.

Chris,
Excellent drama in both surf and sky in this classic at St. Mary's. Love the warmth of the light hitting the mountainside and distant peak. No nits or suggestions. Great take away. What a sky!

Thanks. This was my first trip with the D800. I found myself able to do significantly more with single exposures which would have required bracketing with my 5D2. Switching brands was a big move, but I'm glad I did. That said, there are some things I don't like about it; mainly the Live View, which I used frequently with 5D2, is relatively worthless with D800 IMO.

Nice color and light processing Chris. Waves play very well from this angle. Well done.

Good capture of this fantastic light. The clouds are really something and go well with the dramatic water motion.
