First post out of my new A77. When B&H put it on sale last week I decided to pull the trigger and defer repairing my A700. This is my first experience with Sony's high resolution EVF. I did not really know what to expect but coming from a history of excellent Minolta and Sony optical finders I was prepared to be underwhelmed. Is it as bright as the finder on my old Minolta M7? No, but there are so many features built into the finder that can only be done with an EVF that after a few shots I just said oh never mind to my trepidations. The leveling feature alone is worth it to me as I really struggle with tilted horizons in landscape work (not a big deal in Flora/Macro). Anyway, I'm so glad to be back shooting again. I indulged myself with a trip to the Mercer arboretum this morning and found this little scene next to one of the bridges over one of the lily ponds. All comments welcome.>=))>

Fabulous water lily. Perfect exposure of the white. Like the decaying pads too and a few other straw leave. The only nit is the few spots of stray light.
I do like this both as a photo and as an allegory. I like the way the objects resist sinking, as evidenced by the menisci seen around them. I like the contrast between the the worn pads and downed leaves, and the lily.

When I look at your compositions though I'm reminded of how little the camera matters. Beautiful image - superb comp.
