Yellowjacket on Goldenrod

This is one from the last summer. I hope to have time to get out again.

Yellowjackets are truly "busy bees" and always move around. And then the wind came up and everything moved. I like the yellow on yellow: Yellowjacket on Goldenrod.

I did a bit of research and think this might be a Sandhills Hornet (Dolichovespula arenaria), but I don't know much about insects.

Canon 7D, Sigma 150 macro + 1.4 TC, ISO 100, f/13, 1/250 sec, manual, EX580-II with diffuser for fill-in flash, HH, PP in LR4 and cropped to about 55 %.

Thanks for looking. C & Cs are appreciated as always. Roger.

Looks good to me, Roger. I like the comp because of the position and pose of the Yellowjacket, the yellow flower, and the complementary bg. Excellent light and detail.

Nice picture. Beautiful light. I like yellow flowers that enter in the image from the left and, for me, lead the eye up to the insect.

Sorry if my English is not very correct . . . .
