OK, so not your typical bird photography lens!

Canon 50D
Canon 8-15mm fisheye @ 12mm
1/1600 @ f/4.5
ISO 640

I decided to try some different shots at the Bosque last week. Here's one of the snow geese blasting off the fields. There is a prominent Sandhill crane in the frame as well.

Larger version provides much more detail.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Although I enjoy a lot of these wide angle flock shots I find the artificially bowed baseline to be an overwhelming distraction in this image. Have you tried this with the bow corrected in photoshop?

This different take on a flock of waterfowl is really enjoyable. Very refreshing.

Hi Richard. I have not tried to correct it in Photoshop. Part of the goal of this image was to create something significantly different than my normal images from the refuge. I know it won't appeal to everyone. I do appreciate your input. Always great to hear when things work, and also when they don't.

Snow Geese plus one rather than the Milky Way and stars, shooting or otherwise - I like your thinking here. I can't quite see a Blue Morph though!

Intriguing image. Way to think outside the box. I am not a fan of the curved horizon, either, but you were going for different and this definitely qualifies. Well done.

Birds in a 'fish' bowl, how cool is that!
Very creative look, there must be at least a thousand birds squeezed in there.
Really like this Keith :wavey:
