Doing a little photo exercise in my backyard looking for subtle subjects that one propbably wouldn't pay much attention to. It's been interesting to just sit a bit and look at how the morning light plays around the familiar and mundane. in this case a hanging flower pot showing the effects of a hard frost.

The effects are done to mimic a collodion wet plate. DoF was achieved using an X-Pro1 with a 35mm F1.4 wide open.

Thanks for looking.

I'd say you did well in mimicking a wet plate result. From the thumb, I expected to this to be tack with a spur dangling down. Now I'm surprise and grinning about what is actually here.

I think your results have been very successful Jim, love the processing and vintage quality to the image. That little curled leave on the bottom is really eye catching ! :toast:

Jim,

Outstanding! Wonderful subject matter, but I must say that you've pulled off with great success your attempt to mimic the results of a wet plate process. Excellent work!

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone. I've been working at the process for a while now and the effort is finally paying of in the quality of the results. I actually plan on trying real wet plate some day, but like the look so much I couldn't wait!
