I love what fog does to almost any scene. And, it's no different when white aspen boles are included.
Large version included.
C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,
Morris

This is gorgeous Morris. I don't think I have ever seen aspen in a fog. Very unique and ethreal.

Perfect title Morris! And I couldn't agree with you more! Fog is a photographer's friend!

Agreed on the phenomena that fog produces, and this drives home the point! Looks great Morris, don't know what could be done to make it better. The high key image fits the scene quite well IMO.

Aspens are my favorite tree, as they are so cool to look at in every season! All this talk of aspens in fog makes me want to see it for myself, but at least for now I can literally sit back and enjoy the few images that pass by here on NPN. For some reason, I'm especially liking this perhaps because the background is almost pure white, making the tops of the trees almost disappear into the mist, but then the boles jump out, detailing each trunk. Incredible!

Splendid! I love the way the bg is darker than the aspens in the bottom and lighter above... Truly beautiful.

This is gorgeous, Morris. From the thumb it looks like the fog was too light, but with the aspen trunks glowing against it, it totally works. Very nice image.

Morris a very stately capture. Those aspens are just regal. And the fog just puts right up in your face FG with everything else there but just as shadows. Nice.

Well done, Morris. I don't think that this would have nearly the impact without the fog.
Good color, well composed, and nice color.

I like the high key look and all of the white on white in the top half. The aspen leaves at the bottom pull it all together nicely.

Wow...very nice. I agree with Tony...the thumbnail makes this look as though the fog is very overexposed, but seeing, especially the larger photo, gives this amazing shot it's life. I love the mood and the aspens are beautifully composed

Ooh, sweet, Morris. I like the way that the fog has simplified this scene and made the boles stand out in contrast to the background. The saplings really add just the right splash of color to the scene. As I scrolled down to comment I noticed that a 4X5 crop also works well, but it's hard to decide which I like better.

I really like this a lot! The simplicity and mood do it for me. I have been among aspen in sun, snow, rain, and about everything in between, but have never seemed to get into aspen and fog. It might be a slightly rare weather condition for areas where aspen are found.

This is stunning, I had to look at it for quite a bit to take in all the details, patterns, and atmosphere. I always wanted to have these kinds of conditions when shooting fall colors, but not quite common down here.

Wow! Spectacular! All of the accolades have already been mentioned. But I have one minor suggestion ... a slight crop from the top to eliminate the small cluster of leaves in the upper right corner.

Morris, this is flat out stunning. These aspens boles would have made an amazing image without the fog, but with the fog, and the golden autumn colors, this has turned magical. A pure joy of an image to view.

Agree that this is a beautiful and unique study of the aspens. A crop on the left to eliminate the partial trunk and a clone on the upper right to remove the green leaves may make it even better imho.

Morris,
Outstanding! You're absolutely right about what fog can do to a scene, and I love this! The stark white trunks are just wonderful.
Now for something different that I don't think has been suggested yet. Actually Brian suggested a crop from the top to a 4x5 that I think would work well also. But I'm thinking the opposite. I say this as an alternate view and not because I'm trying to fix or improve what you already have. Here's my thinking. I love the fog. the saplings at the bottom are out of the fog. What if you cropped up from the bottom eliminating all of the non-fog elements? I'm thinking of just an image with the boles and fog; and there is still enough aspen and pine in the foggy bg to complete the scene. I see an alternate crop in there (you'll have to do some jockeying) that doesn't include the bottom aspen saplings. Just a thought.
Regardless, a wonderful autumn aspen image.

Awesome! Wish that I could have chased down the low lying fog when I was there....had to settle for a not so great sunset. Oh, well. Enough of me...this is simply wonderful, Morris. Kudos all around.

I love the way the white trunks blend into the mist leaving the black scars to give definition to the vertical lines. The splashes of golden leaves are nice too. Beautiful image!
