Bonnet of Frost

by Barbara Graham

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted November 16, 2012393 views14 comments
This is from last winter, I think. I checked to see whether photo art was okay here before I posted this one. The photo art aspects of this were applied to the water, not to the plant or the frost. Comments, suggestions and opinions are always greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The frost on the leaf is great and I really like the clean background of the water and the reflection. Great job!

Nicely done, Barbara. It's a beautiful and artistic image. So what "photo art" was done to the water?

Nice one Barbara. Can't really tell what was added, very nice image I like the way you caught the frost around the edge of the flower. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely lace of frost! I like the simplicity of the background, composition and colors.

Barbara, I really like this - the simplicity of composition, but detail in teh frost crystals. Also like the treatment to simplify the water - it compliments the image well. Nicely done :toast:

Very nicely done, Barbara! I especially appreciate the larger version because it brings out more detail in the flower and frost. The flat looking reflection contrasts with the sharp detail of the flower and makes it look even more 3-D.

:toast: The isolated stem, reflection, ice or frost on the leaves, all make for a wonderful capture, Barbara.

Wow, Barbara, this is a very unique and well done shot! Love the comp with the angled stem and its reflection on a very smooth background. It all really helps showcase the sugar-like coating of frost on the edges of the plant. Simple and beautiful.

Barb, congrats on thw WP. The angled plant really stands out from the water. The cup and crystals remind me of a salted margarita glass.
