This image reminds me of a picture of a crowd; it consists as a whole of a number of much smaller pieces, each worth a look; some sunflowers apparently not sure where to look, etc. Maybe "sunflowers searching"...

So here are a few things that register with me personally; take them for what they may be worth and decide whether or not or how you may want to use these data. But I think that the bokeh in the top of the image is not sufficiently diffuse; I find my eye is being drawn there and then the message is one of "this is a discrete bunch or patch of sunflowers" as opposed to the feeling that they are fully filling the frame.

If you see my point here, the latter would be more conducive, I think, to the concept of just many individual sunflowers looking in different directions, searching for the sun, perhaps, without the sense that they are part of one specific plant or plants. I see why you may not want to crop out the group in the upper right corner, which, in turn, means keeping in the dynamic range in the tree trunks on the upper left, but I think that might be executed while retaining what I regard as a key flower; the one atop the stem that is located on the left third side; the one with petals bent over.

So while I'm not sure exactly how to recommend doing it, I think there may be a way to do a crop that would be more effective somehow. I wish I could be more specific. I wrote a partial response to your image last night and trashed it, and I'm not sure this one is any better, but it's better than nothing perhaps.

In summary, if I were you, I'd look a little further into if and how I might extract an image from this that is a clearer expression of what you want to say. OK?

John: Good insights form John C. I do like this image as is and don't mind the ULC although a crop to completely fill the frame with the flowers would be an interesting alternative. I do appreciate your feelings about the prairie and think this conveys that sentiment very well. >=))>

John:
Overall I like this image, very colorful and lively. However, I share the same sentiments as John C and Bill with regards to the trees so I would go with a frame filling crop as suggested by Bill.

I'll third the crop suggestion, but overall I like this image. You might even try cloning out the dark limbs with some more of the subdued green leaves. Well seen image and captured John.

The shallow dof works well to show off the flowers. Nice color and comp as well.
