Hi John, glad to see your first post after reading many of your fine critiques. I really like the repeating pattern created by the specks of frost and interesting leaf shapes. I also like the splashes of early morning light. Thanks for posting. looking forward to seeing more.

Welcome John. Interesting subject nicely handled. The frost has enhanced each leaf with lace and the sun gives extra emphasis. I don't recognize the plant species but if an annual this is its last dance.

Have been enjoying your critiques.

John: Welcome to NPN in general and to the finest Flora gallery on the planet in particular. Terrific first post. I especially like the lighting which is a favorite of mine to try to capture effectively. My only 1¢ nit is the vertical blade of grass bisecting the spotlit leaf on the right side. I'm one who is not averse to some barbering in the field so faced with the same scene I probably would have trimmed that one stem. Great to have you aboard and let me add my thanks for your critiques and early participation. >=))>

Hi John:
After reading many of you very thoughtful and helpful critiques, I have been eagerly awaiting your post and I am not disappointed. This is very artistic. The leaves laced with frost and lit by dappled morning light forming and arc is very compelling. There are a few dust specks which is easily removed.

Welcome to Flora and look forward to seeing more.

John, I like everything about this photo. It is a beautiful image. The subject, crop and lighting is perfect to my eye. I especially like the way the morning light highlights the edges of the frosted leaves. Thank you for posting it. :toast:
