Tufa towers shot at Mono Lake at sunset a few weeks ago. First time to the area for me enjoyed the Eastern Sierra's. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Your composition works extremely well for me, Richie. The foreground rocks lead me into the depth of the image in a compelling way. I also appreciate your careful treatment of colors, especially the subtle reflection.

This is wonderful! Beautiful light, color and reflections. Nice comp of this very interesting scene. I could see this with a crop just below the upper cloud too, but that is just personal taste on my part. Really nice as presented. :toast:

I agree with the other comments, especially the soft colors. Very well done.

The grey rock textures work well with the pastels. Nice work.

Beautiful color in the sky and other worldly look Richie.

I might suggest you comment more on others work. It just might get your work more noticed and more comments.

Really like the almost glowing quality of the tufa. Goes great with the sky and reflection.

Richie,

Wonderful image from Mono Lake! The soft pastels are true to the place. Not sure if it's needed or not, but I'm kinda thinking of a slight increase in contrast kind of in the central portion of the frame? maybe?

Trying to place this. Just a bit east of the Old Marina area? Doesn't look like South Tufa to me as I don't recall seeing all those mini-towers in the water. Then again the lake continues to rise bringing new possibilities every year.

Regardless, this is an excellent capture from Mono Lake.

A very nice composition would good separation among all the formations. I personally would not crop, I like the presented balance.

Beautiful, subtle light. I appreciate the very careful placement of the foreground tufa, creating good separation. Very nice image, would make a great print (hint, hint)!
