Fleeting Fall

By the time I got out this fall the leaves had mostly fallen off the trees allowing them to gather on the ground. Today we almost have an inch of snow on the ground. It's been a long smokey summer in the Northern Rockies and I'm actually looking forward to winter.

Hopefully not to mundane but I'm curious to know your thoughts on this image and would appreciate any feedback, and thank you for the great critiques I've received on my last image.

These seemingly simple images are often the hardest to pull off with impact. This is excellent. The comp and color are very pleasing.

This is really nice Dean. Wonderful light, color and composition. The water droplets make this especially nice and really add to the fall mood. Beautiful! :toast:

The raindrops add that nice "icing" to the shot and the layers of colors are very pretty. Good detail throughout as well. And, yes, bring on the rain and snow before we all burn to the ground.

Although these kind of scenes seem at first glance that they would be easy to shoot I know from experience that it is challenging to find a great composition. I think you have done just that with this. I like the variation in color and the water droplets make the shot even better.

Your light is perfect every time. Simple, but definitely not mundane.

Very nice! Would love the opportunity to shoot this. Only small issue is with a couple of the stems, but have found the same issue with my own shots like this. Nice!

Gotta love those freshly fallen piles of aspen leaves, or for that matter, any autumn colored collection such as this one. No suggestions for change here, Dean. I like the vertical composition on this scene too. Nice work.

Dean,

What's to critique or be critical? This is an intimate and beautiful aspen image. The water drops really make this one too.

Well done!

Classic fall shot I have seen before, but you really nailed your capture with great color, comp, and sharpness. Thanks for sharing!

There's just something about water drops on a vegetation shot like this; it really adds magic for me. This is also the type of shot that would look amazing printed large and dominating a room.
