Once in awhile the leaf is more interesting than the flower. This is a backlit calla leaf. Taken with Canon 40D, using 100-400 IS lens.

Extraordinarily beautiful, Patricia. The curves, lines and backlighting make this a special image.

Just beautiful, Patricia! Love the curvy leaf edge and the curvy lines in the leaf also. . .the great lighting really helps to accentuate those lines. Nice complementary background and an overall very artistic comp on this. Well done!

Really love this image Patricia. The lighting works brilliantly with the flowing lines/curves to create a very appealing and quite artistic visual

Ooohh, the waves of green are so nice! I like the angle across the frame and how the veins converge in the lrc. Well seen and captured.

Pat: I certainly agree with you about calla leaves being interesting although I certainly like the flowers. Our callas are beginning their late fall growth spurt so this inspires me to watch them closely. Really well seen image and a fine comp and capture. Congrats on the WP. >=))>
