Hi Sandy, the light is warm and soft. This angle makes him look a little under condition, where his body behind the horn seems quite angular. I'm used to seeing fat bighorns around here, so I'm admitedly biased. The absolute sharpest part of the sheep seems to be just below the jaw on the neck for some reason. Sensational background and a solid portrait.

Classical side portrait. I'm not sure how you really feel about not getting a full body shot, but I would feel this is better. Perfect composure of the animal and perfect detail. Thumbs up, Sandy.

Charlie - never fear - I backed up slowly and got several full-body shots as well. Each has their own merits.

Very nice close-up portrait Sandy!!! Excellent sharpness. I really like seeing the detail in his beautiful eye.

Hi Sandy,

Very nice pose you captured here - and the nice detail helps the viewer get a great look at those horns, especially in the larger image. My only nit is a simple one - the subject seems a bit underexposed and thus slightly too dark - if this were mine I'd experiment with selectively brightening up portions of the rams head just a tad.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

Agree with Brad about the exposure, but otherwise very nice! Love the detail, especially in the eye!
