Regal Gaze
by Cam Held
Hello All,
Just got back today after almost a week in the Serengeti. What an unbelievably amazing place! I am pretty sure I've come away with some of the best shots of my life, and I'm excited to share them!
This female lion is one of my favorites of those I've edited thus far. She was sitting on a small dune-like hillock next to a watering hole for quite some time. Then, as the evening light started to get better, she stood up and posed, gazing down her nose at me. The whole time she gave off this regal air- its funny how sometimes animals give off personalities. This shot is minimally edited, just sharpened slightly for the web, but is essentially straight out of the camera.
Hope you like it, and I hope to post more before I head off to Kenya after this weekend!

Grtz, Ingrid.
Super-solid shot - well done. That look she's giving you is great and I quite like the depth/dimensionality given by the side-lighting. Colours work well too. And...very nicely composed (in-camera!). Hard to find much to nitpick on this one...
Thanks for sharing this one and looking forward to seeing more...
Cheers...
