Lovely image, Tim, beautifully composed ! I like the sharpness of the flower against the soft rendering of the water; there are quite a number of reflections as possible distractions, but I think the flower holds up well. Only wonder if it might be just a touch brighter ?

Tim:
I seem to be spending more time exploring the bg reflection than admiring the beautiful lily; this is especially so as the flower is a little underexposed compared to the bg.

The depth of field used has a great 3D effect on this bloom.

Tim: One of my favorites at the arboretum. When was this taken? I haven't been over there in several months but this is giving me the bug. Beautiful shot.>=))>

Nice flower. I like the sharpness and color although I agree it's a bit dark.

In the smaller version the reflections are a little distracting. In the larger version the flower easily dominates the composition and commands attention.

Tim - I work out of a bright monitor, so the brightness does not appear that big of a concern for me. I really like the front to back DOF for the Waterlily and the use of the pads in a non distracting fashion.

I feel a CPL might work here to reduce the reflections of highlights in the water.
