The next shot in my high key orchid series.

This orchid has tiny flowers. Barely over an inch tall. The dainty little flowers make the stem look thick and clumsy by comparison. I have one more of these miniature orchids I might shoot. After that I'll stick to the larger flowered varieties.

I like this shot a lot. Please pick it apart. Your comments and suggestions have been instrumental in helping me refine these images. I appreciate them all.

Mark - I like this too. I like this particular color combination along with the high key rendition which might just be the right way to make artistic Orchid Photos.

I feel (almost always do, so it may just be my brain perceiving it) there is more space on the top and reducing it might work better for me.

Very light and delicate. I think you've captured the diminutive nature of this flower and bud perfectly.

Mark:
I have a similar looking orchid but not the miniature version like yours. Your hkey rendition is just perfect and I also like how the bud turnout. No suggestion except perhaps a little too much space all round (at least the top).

Getting the bud into the frame from this angle, so relating it to the flower centre, is a very strong feature of this image for me, Mark. The sharpness of the centre, tapering out to the soft petal edges I also love. Concur, though, re a bit of a crop.

Like Ram suggests, a little off of the top makes it stronge, I think. Incredible series that just keeps going, like the Energizer bunny.

Lovely, Mark! The large stem doesn't bother me.
