Butter

Thanks for the weekly pick for "Butterflies". There is so much outstanding work in this gallery that it's quite an honor.

Here is the next shot in my high key orchid series. Butter, sweet creamy butter.

I like the way the flowers arc across the image. I also wonder how this would look if I cropped it to the three flowers on the right.

Mark, I can see cropping this to remove part of the stem—a pano crop—but I see no sense in removing the left most flowers. They are strongly joined and worth keeping. Nice work!

Mark - If anything crop some off the top to move the branch off center and thereby emphasize the branch holding the blooms even more. The only other nit I see is that there is no ©2012/Ram at the right hand bottom corner  .

If this were mine, I would not touch anything else. Orchid Series has been rocking so far. :toast:

Mark:
Funny thing is I was testing out my D600 last weekend end using the same orchid in hkey. I have some success but not as nice as what you have shown here. Would not do anything to the image except perhaps cropping the top as suggested by Ram. :toast:

I don't peruse the Flora gallery too often but am always amazed at the great quality of work here. I love your whole orchid series, a really great collection of work! :toast:

Really nice comp. It probably would work with the three, but this is grand as is.

Love the use of light to let your petals fade from that beautiful yellow into the white of the bg. Terrific work.
