Charlie, this is an excellently composed image with lovely flower. The flower details are excellent. I like POV and great, eye catching light. Nicely done. :toast:

What an interesting flower Charlie, and well captured and displayed. I like this portrait.

Exquisite detail in this lovely flower.
The comp seems awkward to me - I think more room at the top would help to balance it. Would be easy to clone in, if needed.If you have more pixels at the bottom, a vertical comp might even work well.

Excellent lighting and detail. I like your choice to include the small leaf. I think it adds just the right amount of weight at the bottom.

Sandy you hit on the thing that puzzled me when getting this ready. Composition for crop didn't feel right. I do have room and after a busy morning I'm going to fool with this again. :wavey:

Charlie - I don't want to set an expectation on the aspect ratio but I would like to see the stem a little below where it meet the stem :smile: . I would reckon the flower might look a lot more elegant that way.

I like the Tulip Variety with the spikes within the petals. Terrific details there. May be a touch more sharpening for the flower proper ?

Charlie;
The flower is really pretty and elegant and the lighting is just sublime. I agree with Ram about leaf meeting the stem at the base.

Finally getting back to try improvements per suggestions. Though I said I had more room to open up the crop I found that I didn't at the bottom to show the leaf at the junction where it joined the stem. I cloned out the leaf but think it looks more than a little bare. As to another suggestion I gave more room at the top. Being a fiddler I did other adjustments and overall I don't feel I improved this shot.

Hit me with your thoughts this *is* what makes NPN so worth while

Charlie, honestly, I like both versions original and repost. That background is really good, the bloom stands out nicely. Good detail on the flower, really good. Nice treatment on the whites as well. Lighting what I like. Well done sir!

Well, Charlie, I'll add my 2 cents worth in this discussion. I like the first image but with maybe a tiny bit more room at the top and a little on the left. Easy fix and balanced IMO. The leaf looks fine as is to me. Without it, the second image does feel a little bare. By the way, great image! That flower sure has a lot of "hair" inside it. :wink:

I like how you always bring unusual (at least to me :smile: ) and interesting images for us to view, Charlie. This is just cool, besides being beautiful. :toast:
